Stansfeld Scott Barbados, founded in 1935, was acquired in 1978 by the Cabral/Kessaram trio and has flourished under their management into a prominent distributor of wines, spirits and consumer health products in Barbados. In 1998 they expanded into retail and today Wine World is the leading wine & spirits specialty retailer in Barbados, with stores in key commercial locations.
Beyond Barbados, the company expanded its reach regionally under Stansfeld Scott International (SSI) an affiliate company, headquartered in Tampa Florida which is not part of this transaction. Brian Cabral, outgoing Chairman of SSB, said, “Over the past 47 years, we have worked diligently with a talented and motivated team to reestablish this company to become a leading and respected distributor and retailer in Barbados and the wider Caribbean. We are proud of what we have achieved but given the passage of time it is now necessary to pass the baton to a like minded group that can take our Barbados operation to new heights. In A.S. Bryden, the Musson Group and their Chairman P.B. Scott, we are confident we have found the right partner who will add value to the organisation and create new opportunities for our team and business partners.
